As part of their continued growth and commitment to excellence, they are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join their team as the Health & Safety Manager.
Role Overview:
As the Health & Safety Manager, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing our SHEQ division, shaping and implementing our SHEQ strategy, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
This is a newly created role where you will take a hands-on approach, leading with optimism and determination to drive continuous improvement in their SHEQ practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive SHEQ strategy aligned with the company's objectives and values.
Lead, mentor, and develop the SHEQ team, fostering a culture of safety, health, environmental stewardship, and quality excellence.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and standards, including ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001.
Conduct regular inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with project teams to integrate SHEQ requirements into project planning and execution.
Provide guidance and support to management and staff on SHEQ-related matters.
Drive a proactive approach to incident prevention, investigation, and reporting, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Monitor and analyse SHEQ performance metrics, providing regular reports and recommendations to senior management
Requirements:
Proven experience in a senior SHEQ leadership role within the construction industry.
Strong knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and influence others.
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement SHEQ strategies and initiatives.
Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a proactive and solution-focused mindset.
Willingness to travel, mainly within the South-East region, with occasional nationwide visits as required
