The role
As a Product Safety Lead, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. The role supports the Governance and Assurance Technical Director to ensure the implementation of Product Safety initiatives within UK Marine Sector, across all Functions
Day to day, you'll develop, co-ordinate and maintain the UK Marine Product Safety Management Plan (PSMP) to ensure it continues to meet (or exceed) our legal, regulatory, and ethical customer-facing responsibilities for managing the safety of our products, spanning all goods and services delivered by UK Marine.
- Regarding implementation the role primarily covers ensuring implementation beyond the Engineering Function, i.e. Project Management, Procurement and Supply Chain, Quality, SHEP, Properties and Facilities Management, and Service Capabilities (e.g. Operations). The role will facilitate UK Marine Product Safety Review Board and monitor and address Product Safety concerns within UK Marine.
- Support the Governance and Assurance Technical Director to provide UK Marine input to the Group Product Safety Review Board.
- Consult with the Safety Engineering Discipline develop and implement an appropriate Assurance framework covering Product Safety Management across UK Marine, to evaluate compliance.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to Product Safety for UK Marine.
Essential experience of the Product Safety Lead:
- Experience of assuring Product Safety in complex products across the Engineering Product Lifecycle; design, procurement, build and maintenance.
- Experience developing and delivering; change management, safety event investigation, assurance, communications, and training.
