An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Speech and Language Therapist to join our highly skilled Speech and Language Therapy service and work within the neurosciences department.

This post holder will carry a caseload covering, acute neurology and stroke with support to the neuro-cardiology and trauma teams.

They will have the opportunity to work on our instrumental assessment rotas and work towards relevant clinical competencies.

The post holder will have experience providing SLT assessment and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders within an MDT setting.

The post holder will carry their own caseload and have an important role in liaising with other specialist services to optimise patient outcomes.

The successful post holder will receive regular supervision and support to develop specialist clinical skills. They will be joining a highly supportive and innovative Speech and Language Therapy Department, offering well established CPD opportunities.

They will participate in weekend working as part of the therapies 7 day working policy. This post is 0.6 and there is some flexibility with working days however one day must
be Friday.

  • To provide assessment and management and treatment to patients on our neurology ward and stroke services.
  • To work closely with the SLTs covering Major Trauma and Neuro-Cardiac and provide cross cover as required.
  • To assess, treat and manage a caseload of adults with acquired communication and/or swallowing disorders
  • To maintain adequate records
  • To participate in learning and training both individual and departmental
  • To work as an integrated member of the MDT
This post will join a team of 30+ adults speech and language therapists across a range of clinical specialities.
