Engineering Consultant - London, United Kingdom - Daemon Solutions Ltd.
Description
Daemon's all about helping people use technology to make the world a better place. We love building trusted partnerships with our clients, and helping them embrace the tech that can make their business better. For that we need our people to embrace the Daemon way – doing great work in a great place, with diverse talents, all united by our shared values.
We're looking for tech heroes with the va-va-voom to help us unite teams behind one vision, empower their potential, and inspire them with our One Team spirit.
The aim is to get everyone to the future faster. By turning teams into the movements that power digital transformation.
what we do
Our core set of client-centric solutions are designed to smash client's problems and make tech work harder for them. They include:
We tie this all together with a little thing we call 'delivery excellence', backed up with performance engineering, DevOps, and design thinking. And lashings of Daemonite energy, of course...
what to expect
You'll be a member of the Daemon Engineering team, you'll be pushing to win work on exciting, challenging and rewarding projects with some famous brands. Working hand-in-glove with high-performing teammates, you'll develop personally and professionally, surrounded by superhero consultants digging deep to deliver together.
what we need
We are looking for a Consultant with a background in software engineering, working with one or more programming languages.
about you
You're a strong oral and written communicator, comfortable working with senior and junior colleagues alike. You have an organised and productive approach to work. You're able to identify your own growth areas and manage your own development plan.
You have a strong ability to absorb technical/domain information and apply it effectively.
matching your values with ours
Our values affect everything we do – and yours will too. So we'll need you to have integrity (of course) and be a passionate, approachable pragmatist who's always looking for ways to shake things up.
your responsibilities
You'll be responsible for a wide range of activities including:
You'll report to one of our Principal Consultants.
your experience
who you'll work with
Internally you'll be assigned a mentor and a buddy. You'll be working alongside our Principal & Senior Consultants within our Engineering Practice
We pay competitive salaries with some great benefits (which we're always reviewing):
more about Daemon life
We've been powering digital transformations since 2007, when Calum Fitzgerald and Steve Bennett first founded Daemon Solutions. Now, we're up to 160+ Daemonites, beavering away on the tech visions that'll make all the difference for our clients – who include quite a few names you'll know.
We live and work by our values – in everything we do, we work with integrity, and we're approachable, pragmatic, progressive and passionate. Because we know that fostering shared values and a One Team spirit can be contagious. We're out to create movements.
Because movements power digital transformation.
smells like One Team spirit
We're all about the energy that comes from confidence, camaraderie and a shared purpose. About unearthing the full potential of every engagement, to inspire and empower our clients, and leave them stronger than when we arrived.
So we empower you to deliver, with an open, honest culture where you can be yourself. And we give you mentoring, training, and plenty of scope for collaboration. Because we also want Daemon to be all about you.
But it's not all work, work, work – we're always finding excuses to get together, with regular socials, clubs and team lunches. When the time is right we throw seasonal parties, with gifts from us for everyone, and awesome extras. Like the Daemon FestDVal: we invite you, your friends and family (and dogs) to fool around with silly stuff like a drum workshop, laser tag and bouncy castles, listen to live music, and stuff yourselves with jerk chicken, veggie curry and donuts. Nice
training and development
We love it when Daemonites want to get certified in new or existing technologies. Not only will we pay for you to do it – there might even be a bit of a bonus in it for you. We also make sure that you get internal training on the new products you need.
You'll get the chance to work with enterprise clients on different types of engagements, so you can hone your fabulous skill set and get to grips with all the latest tech.
Plus you'll find:
We pride ourselves in being a consultancy with a difference. We actively look to help shape and frame the career paths of our consultants, whether you are at the start of your career in technology or looking to diversify and re-train.
Don't be afraid of what you don't know, treat every opportunity as an open door to the next step of your career
Head of Talent Acquisition
Thanks for considering a career with Daemon - here's what happens next
This is the really easy part. Attach your CV to an email and send us a message Feel free to include anything that will inform, educate or entertain us too
2. We'll call you
Our Recruitment Team is now on the case. We'll be in touch within 24 hours for a short call (about 20 mins) to discuss you, the role and what you want to do in the future.
3. First interview
Within 48 hours of the initial call we move to the Interview phase. The first is with one of our Heads, it'll be a call, video chat or a face-to-face. We'll dive deeper into your suitability for the role and get into a few more specifics. This will typically last 45mins to an hour.
4. Final Interview
The final interview will be at our Central London office, for this the Head of your team will be joined by one of our Founders. We'll look to see how you'll fit in with the Daemon Team, this will include covering the role in depth and more on the Daemon culture, values and vision for the future.
5. Offer/Feedback
We make a commitment to come back to you within 24 hours after your final interview. This will be with an offer to join the team or detailed feedback as to why you weren't successful this time.
Our Values
approachable
We're easy to talk to and work with. We like to stay open-minded: we listen, absorb and consider the ideas, views and knowledge of others.
integrity
We have a strong sense of fairness and honesty; we do the right thing in a reliable way. But we can – and will – say no when required.
pragmatic
We approach things sensibly and realistically, with a clear focus on outcomes, goals, and getting things done.
progressive
We embrace change; there are always things that could be improved. We like to do this collaboratively with our clients and colleagues, we don't do it to them.
We always commit with energy, enthusiasm and determination. Call it a 'can do' spirit or simply rolling up our sleeves. We care about what we do.
Looking for something else? We're always hiring...
