The Pentland Centre for Sustainability in Business are seeking to appoint an 18-month post-doc to work with colleagues in the Centre and external collaborators on projects linked to business and biodiversity.

The associate, in partnership with colleagues and external collaborators, will be interacting with policy and practice communities to understand the evolution of the business and biodiversity agenda.

In addition, the associate will co-design and deliver a program of research that contributes to the knowledge on business and biodiversity issues.

It is likely that this program of work would encompass business decision making within companies and financial institutions.

Likewise, the use of information disclosure to articulate biodiversity interactions and performance will likely be a focus of the work.

A variety of backgrounds in the area of business and biodiversity will be considered, but a background in accounting, reporting or finance as it pertains to organisational and financial system interactions with biodiversity will be an advantage.

There will be a package of training and support to support the post-holder develop the knowledge and skills needed for the role.

The overall aim of the post is to document the rapidly evolving business and biodiversity agenda as well as undertaking selected research projects in this area.

The work will be guided by colleagues in the Pentland Centre for Sustainability in Business and in partnership with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales.

The post is of eighteen months duration, starting as soon as is practical after the interview (the earliest start date will be June 5th, 2023).
