Our client design and build machinery used for the manufacturing of various products.

The work is project based, each machine or production line is designed in house to match the customer specification and built in the workshop.

The machines are generallypneumatically operated by solenoid valves with PLC control.

You will assemble parts, sub-assemblies and complete machines with others and with experience, independently. The machines are built to engineering drawings, common sense and with the experience of colleagues.

The work requires care to build equipment rightfirst time by understanding the objectives of each element and testing that they are met in each step.

This permanent role is based in Surrey. The job involves some customer site working for the installation of these machines. The installation locations are generally UK / France / wider Europe but also USA and elsewhere.


We require someone with good mechanical engineering skills : use of hand tools, drilling, tapping, fitting and some machine tools; Basic turning / milling would be useful.

Knowledge of pneumatics and PLC control systems would be an advantage but working to develop such skills is fine.

You need to problem solving skills and also good communication skills. You must self-check your work to discover problems at every opportunity. A critical eye for such issues is important.


You will be required to travel as part of a team to install machines in the UK and Europe and sometimes further.


You should be able to tell us why you are interested engineering and ideally show some personal interest in mechanics.
