    Development Technologist - London, United Kingdom - The Oval Partnership

    Description

    We are collaborating with a renowned FMCG Food manufacturer in search of a Development Technologist to join their NPD Team, owing to their sustained success and growth.

    In this role, having a Food related degree (or equivalent) and experience in Technical or New Product Development is ideal. You will be managing multiple tasks, adhering to critical paths, and overseeing a seamless concept to launch process.

    ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Take products and projects through each development stage from concept to launch, ensuring accurate maintenance of paperwork and systems.
    • Conduct necessary product testing such as shelf life and transit.
    • Maintain BRC audit readiness consistently by managing systems and paperwork effectively.
    • Keep all key stakeholders informed promptly of any issues.
    • Support recipe changes, ensuring accuracy throughout and recording changes as per the relevant procedure.
    • Create theoretical nutritionals for new food recipes and ensure analytical testing aligns with critical path requirements.
    • Collaborate with Process and Operational teams to calculate precise food, packaging, and labor costings.
    • Organize essential product validations, including consumer cooking.
    • Participate actively in all relevant site meetings, including weekly NPD meetings.
    • Aid in the Artwork process to ensure smooth handovers between departments and agencies.
    • Work closely with Technical, Process, and Procurement for optimal sourcing of new raw materials.
    • Contribute significantly to food development in line with company values.
    • Attend all relevant tastings and promote a culture of food and quality.
    • Ensure chefs have the necessary sourced ingredients and benchmarks for recipe development.
    • Engage in quality improvement projects actively.
    • Prepare accurate data and information for meetings, tastings, stakeholders, and key decision points.

    • Adherence to procedures and accuracy.

    • Successful delivery of project critical paths.
    • Creation and development of recipe costings.
    • Food-related degree or equivalent.
    • Experience in Technical or NPD teams.
    • Project management experience and ability to adhere to critical paths.
    • Effective and engaging communication skills.
    • Capability to deliver compelling messages and influence others.
    • Strong analytical skills and highly numerate.
    • Organized with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
    • Detail-oriented and focused.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills.
