Purpose of the role


The key link between Crew's 3rd party inbound freight partner, warehousing partner, B&M teams and suppliers ensuring that freight moves from suppliers to warehouse on time, efficiently and is visible to all functions - internal and external in the most cost effective way.


Responsibilities:


  • Work closely with Crew's 3rd Party Inbound Freight Partner to ensure supplier movements are managed accurately and efficiently.
  • Liaise with suppliers and Crew's 3PL to ensure on time despatches and therefore deliveries to warehouse.
  • Ensure costs such as demurrage, storage and Customs charges are kept to minimum.
  • Liaise with 3rd party Warehouse Team to plan weekly intake, manage changes and work through weekly peaks.
  • Using the 3rd party freight forwarders tracking system ensure there is clarity/visibility around Purchase Orders and Inbound freight throughout the business. Flag up issues well in advance where we have potential late delivery/payment issues and involve relevant parties as early as possible.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to continually review and implement process improvement
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting
  • Liaise internally with key stakeholders; Finance, Buying & Merchandising, Wholesale and Subprime confirming dates, costs, etc where necessary.
  • Maintain the Crew Logistics Supplier Manual and ensure standards on inbound freight are maintained. Flag up with Merchandising where suppliers fail to meet these standards. Critical areas include but are not limited to Bar codes, Carton sizes and delivery dates into the business.
  • Ensure that AX is correct and up to date with the 3rd party logistics tracking system.
  • Review shipping documents and action incorrect information.
  • Check random Customs Clearance to ensure the 3rd party freight partner is clearing correctly.
  • Responsible for investigating stock missing on intake at the warehouse, reporting to Buying and Head of Logistics and raising Debit Notes for missing stock where required.
  • Check freight invoices for payment.
  • Create the weekly Supply Chain Report
  • Report intake value, duty and VAT by week.
  • Benchmark freight rates against Crew's 3rd Party Freight partner every 6 months.
  • Report weekly and monthly performance
  • Manage Supplier Compliance Reporting and communicate to suppliers, and communicate penalties to suppliers

  • Previous experience in a supply chain role particularly with freight forwarders
  • Retail Background
  • Experience in using an ERP (Microsoft AX would be an advantage)
  • MS Office (Excel in particular)
  • Basic understanding of Customs & Excise
