Description
Step Up Speech and Language is an independent therapy service supporting children to communicate successfully and engage with learning.

Language and Communication Practitioner
Are you interested in children's development and communication? Do you want to support children who need help learning to talk? Do you have a natural way with people and are a good listener?

If so, you could be part of the Step Up Speech and Language therapy service and support our mission to help local children communicate successfully and engage with learning

We are now recruiting for a Language and Communication Practitioner who will specialise in supporting children who show signs of autism.

You will deliver evidence based interventions and provide advice to preschools to help promote and extend children's early communication skills.

You need to have experience of supporting preschool children with attention and listening as well as early language skills using interventions such as attention autism, PECS, and intensive interaction.

Step Up Speech and Language was established in 2019 and since then, has grown to be a well-known and highly recommended independent therapy service.

At Step Up we provide families with much needed help and support for their children.

Due to the success of this service, there is now a need to expand and help more children and families in Plymouth through our new service Plymouth Autism Team.

Our therapy service takes pride in the strong links and relationships that we've formed by working directly with families, preschools and school settings.

It's our commitment to bring out the best in children and help them to achieve their potential.

You will work under the guidance of the lead Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) to improve the lives of children with speech, language and communication difficulties.

This is a highly rewarding role that requires enthusiasm to learn new and exciting skills, and motivate children to communicate successfully.

You will work closely with children, parents and preschools to offer support and prepare individulised resources to help young children engage with learning and communication.

You will be an enthusiastic and dynamic practitioner, to deliver speech and language therapy services in accordance with the Code of Practice of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.

You will manage your own workload and provide support for 3-5 days per week.
