Reporting into the Chief Legal Officer, your journey will involve a varied and extensive breadth of work and you will be responsible for delivery of legal advice and support across multiple business areas.
The legal team is the "go to" for legal expertise within the business, helping to support the business' continuing and ambitious growth plans.
As a member of the Veezu legal team, you will provide legal advice, support, and guidance for legal matters across the business.
You will currently be working in-house or for a well-established law firm and you will be specialised in any of the following: employment, litigation, commercial, data protection and/or mergers and acquisitions.
Understanding the full risk profile of the business and partnering with key stakeholders to devise and implement working practises and strategies to ensure legal compliance.
Commercial Contracts Review, Drafting & Negotiation: working alongside our Veezu Commercial and Veezu Merger and Acquisitions teams assisting in the reviewing, drafting, negotiating and execution of a wide range of commercial contracts and ancillaries, including supplier contracts, non-disclosure agreements, license agreements, SaaS agreements, data processing agreements and other commercial agreements as needed.
Litigation Management:
managing the day-to-day litigation associated with the business including the outsourcing, where necessary, of cases to external counsel and tracking progress
Data Protection:
working alongside our Data Protection Officer to provide as necessary and address any ICO complaints / issues.
Internal Governance:
supporting company secretarial matters, internal governance processes and procedures and providing internal training to senior managers, directors and c-suite on governance matters.
Undertaking legal research and advising on changes to commercial law and regulations and ensuring legal and contractual compliance (including in relation to UK and EU GDPR).
Help to supervisejunior members of the legal team.Security and Compliance
Adhere to and implement information security policies and procedures.
Ensure legal and contractual compliance.
Ensure completion of all mandatory training.
Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Ensure that customer, passenger, Driver Partner & colleagues' information is safeguarded at all times, in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Be committed to maintaining our ISO27001 certification and set high standards for Information Security compliance.Follow information security policies and procedures.
Undertake information security training under the company's information security policies and procedures.
Lead by example and act in compliance with GDPR, the Company's policies and information security requirements at all times.
In-house legal experience is preferred but not essential.You will be a UK qualified solicitor with at least 3+ years post-qualification experience in commercial law (candidates with backgrounds in employment Law or data protection/IP will also be considered).
Experience in employment law, data protection or commercial law is preferred but not essential.A strong understanding of contract law, business transactions, and regulatory compliance is desirable.
Demonstrable communication skills and commercial acumen.
Previous experience or a desire to support in litigation matters is advantageous (both civil and employment).
Experience working with senior stakeholders as well as working in a fast-paced environment.
