Sunshine Volunteer Coordinator (PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A VOLUNTEER ROLE)
We are a brand new start-up charity in London, looking for a
VOLUNTEER to join us as our
Volunteer Coordinator
Sunshine is a start-up charity that aims to create positive impact in the community by organising various projects, events and activities that foster social inclusion, well-being, and happiness.
Some of the examples of what we will do are:
- Hosting community festivals, fairs, and parties that celebrate diversity and culture.
- Running workshops, classes, and clubs that teach new skills, hobbies, and interests.
- Providing support, guidance, and mentoring to people who are facing challenges or difficulties in their lives.
- Collaborating with other local organisations, businesses, and groups to create partnerships and networks.
- Raising awareness and funds for causes that matter to our community.
As our Volunteer Coordinator of Sunshine, you will have the opportunity to shape the vision, mission, and values of the charity, being a key leading figure and the face of the charity, ensuring we have the key people and talent in place.
You will be responsible for:
- Develop and implement a volunteer recruitment strategy that attracts and retains diverse and committed volunteers for our various projects, events, and activities.
- Design and deliver volunteer training and induction programmes that equip our volunteers with the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to perform their roles effectively.
- Provide ongoing support, supervision, and recognition to our volunteers, ensuring they feel valued, motivated, and satisfied with their experience.
- Maintain accurate and uptodate records of volunteer information, hours, feedback, and impact.
- Liaise with other volunteers and trustees to ensure the smooth integration and collaboration of volunteers across the organisation.
- Evaluate and monitor the quality and impact of our volunteer programme and identify areas for improvement.
To be our Volunteer Coordinator of Sunshine, you will need to have:
- A genuine interest in and commitment to the charity's purpose and values.
- A passion for working with people and building positive relationships.
- A proactive, organised, and flexible approach to work.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Experience in volunteer management or coordination, or a relevant qualification in this field.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- The availability to work at least 46 hours per week (including some evenings and weekends).
The time commitment for this role is flexible, with volunteer inductions and meetings mostly taking place during the evening and on weekends.
Volunteer Coordinator duties can mostly be done remotely except for volunteer meetings and inductions that will need to be done in person to foster a sense of community and team spirit and bonding.
