As our Volunteer Coordinator of Sunshine, you will have the opportunity to shape the vision, mission, and values of the charity, being a key leading figure and the face of the charity, ensuring we have the key people and talent in place.

You will be responsible for:

  • Develop and implement a volunteer recruitment strategy that attracts and retains diverse and committed volunteers for our various projects, events, and activities.
  • Design and deliver volunteer training and induction programmes that equip our volunteers with the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to perform their roles effectively.

  • Maintain accurate and uptodate records of volunteer information, hours, feedback, and impact.
  • Liaise with other volunteers and trustees to ensure the smooth integration and collaboration of volunteers across the organisation.
  • Evaluate and monitor the quality and impact of our volunteer programme and identify areas for improvement.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Experience in volunteer management or coordination, or a relevant qualification in this field.
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • The availability to work at least 46 hours per week (including some evenings and weekends).

The time commitment for this role is flexible, with volunteer inductions and meetings mostly taking place during the evening and on weekends.

These will be agreed in advance by everyone, along with any other important events and dates.
