- Produce high quality components to set deadlines
- Follow production list ensuring jobs are produced meeting deadlines
- Work to tight financial margins
- Liaise with senior management to map and plan future work
- Implementing procedures to improve efficiency and reduce material and tool wastage
- Order tooling as and when required
- Maintain existing machines to a high standard
- Adjusting and updating programs for increased efficiency when necessary
- Regularly self-inspecting the jobs being produced
- Advanced apprenticeship in mechanical engineering
- Ability to read and understand complex technical drawings
- Ability to produce precision components to the tightest tolerances (0.01mm or less)
- Experience using a wide range of inspection equipment
- Good level of knowledge in programming and setting up CNC milling and turning machines
- Experience in using manual lathes and milling machines
