What you'll do

Evaluate and authorise risks through the technical underwriting and final underwriting stages up to a reinstatement value of £30,000,000 per single structure; new and midterm adjustments.
Liaise with the technical team inspection surveyors across all aspects of risk underwriting
Highlight special considerations; where the risk is, additional costs for surveys, etc
Review builder's credit checks
Review and confirm the BCIS
Underwrite risks up to limit of £30,000,000 per single structure and a development limit of £65,000,000.
Liaise with account executives to create full understanding of the business proposed
Support ongoing training and account handler understanding
Assist the underwriting manager in all aspects of the daily operation and performance of the department
Check all required information obtained and uploaded to the software system.
Interpret any previous narrative added previously and together with all Information relevant to the risk
Refer risks above £10,000,000 via senior management to present to the insurer

Experience you need

Experience of underwriting, customer service and risk analysis skills
Knowledge of relevant market conditions preferred
Sound understanding of the general insurance market
Strong decision making ability
Ability to negotiate with internal customers
