Description

Our client is a delightful 13-year-old child with cerebral palsy and associated complex care needs, including autism, a sensory processing disorder and epilepsy.

He lives with his loving supportive family in a property adapted very well to meet his needs.

  • Central to the Support Worker role, and why skilled staff are required; is providing the positive management of the challenging behaviour he can display as a result of his particular mix of learning disability, autism and sensory needs. This is as much about providing the well thought out framework, strategies and routine to prevent escalation of any behaviour, than managing that behaviour when it happens.
  • We are looking for professional support workers who can commit to long term involvement to provide a stable environment, and facilitate our client to achieve his full potential. They need to be motivated, enthusiastic and flexible individuals with a commitment to supporting our client's family to care for and support him to live as full, active and fulfilling life as possible
  • You will work closely with his family, and follow specific plans of care which include a wide range of therapies provided though social and recreational activities within the home and the local community. You will receive full support from your Care and Therapy Coordinator (Team Leader) as well as a full team of professionals, with the opportunity to develop your skills through training with the wider team.
  • You will be undertaking a range of duties to support the child and will work closely with other members of the team in providing the highest standards of care and support.
  • Higher than average pay rates are being offered to attract and retain Support Workers who have the skills required to meet the client's specific needs, or who show the aptitude and commitment to attain these skills.
