Driver Hire Leeds West are working a leading local charity to recruit a Warehouse Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.

Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will be based out of client's depot in LS11.

The Warehouse Manager plays a pivotal role in leading and overseeing the efficient functioning of our warehouse operations team, comprised of both staff and volunteers.

This position is integral to ensuring the seamless receipt and distribution of food to community groups (CFMs), aligning closely with our Charity's Vision and Mission, as well as responding to locally driven demand.

Collaborate with the Development and Community Team to implement new initiatives related to food provision, taking the lead on their execution.

– Assume responsibility for ensuring compliance across all aspects of warehouse operations, including food hygiene, health and safety, and security, prioritizing the safety and well-being of all involved.
– Establish and manage the warehouse work schedule and daily activities, optimising efficiency, and resource utilisation.
– Cultivate a volunteer-led operations team, overseeing training, retention, and supervision efforts.
– Coordinate shift planning and coverage, including occasional delivery driving duties, to ensure seamless operation of CFM deliveries.
– Utilise and manage the in-house stock management database, providing training as needed to warehouse personnel.
– Strategically allocate surplus food resources to maximize social impact in line with the Charity's mission.
Ensure compliance with the Charities policies, as well as industry standards mandated by food donors and regulators.
– Uphold the highest standards for equipment, vehicles, and facilities maintenance.
Deliver necessary training to staff, volunteers, and relevant individuals as required.
– Collaborate closely with support teams and Senior Management Team (SMT) to ensure effective and compliant operations, including potential cross-site support within the Yorkshire area.
Proficient in various software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, internet tools, and databases.
– Willingness to undergo additional training as needed.
5hr working week, Monday to Friday with 1 in 4 Saturdays.
