    Description

    Software Safety Engineer

    Location : Bristol, BS34 7QS

    Onsite: 2/3 days per week

    The Opportunity:

    Europe's #1 Integrated Defence Company seeks a talented Software Safety Assurance Practioner to lead the development of software safety cases/arguments for next-gen weapons and missile systems.

    The Role:

    You'll join a dedicated team of hands-on safety-critical software specialists. Together, you'll ensure the successful implementation of software safety solutions into actuation systems, launchers, and weapon controllers, spanning technical domains such as Embedded, Command and Control (C2), and Mission Planning systems.

    Required Skills/Experience:

    • citizen or a UK national dual with British citizenship who is willing and able to obtain SC and DV clearance.
    • in delivering safety-related/critical reports and arguments.
    • and delivering (software) safety cases and arguments, with a comfort level in collaborating with engineers across various disciplines, including international colleagues.
    • with Modular Safety Cases and Goal Structuring Notation (GSN) application.
    • knowledge of standards like Def Stan 00-055, 00-056, IEC 61508, and RTCA DO-178C.
    • in utilising and producing FFA/HAZOP/SHARD.

    Benefits Package:

    Base salary: £80,000 - £90,000 (DoE)

    Annual Bonus: Up to 21%

    Pension: Pension 14% (6% Employee and 8% Employer)

    Holidays: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays

    Share Incentive Plan: Opportunity to purchase shares via payroll before tax and NI.

    Parental Benefits: Up to 26 weeks of full pay for maternity, paternity, adoption, neonatal and shared parental leave

    Company Sick Pay: This ranges from 6 weeks for the first six months of service and scales up to 48 weeks after five years of service.
