Finance Manager - FP&A & Management Accounting

£75,000 - £85,000 + Excellent benefits & Hybrid working

Aila is excited to announce a partnership with a leading British manufacturing business that has been operating successfully for many years and have been recognised as a Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For, for over 10 years.

We're supporting them inthe recruitment of an ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified Finance Manager that can join on a permanent basis and lead a team of 6 Management Accountants, whilst adding value to the board with commentary and analysis across each division.

The role is based in Letchworth with a flexible hybrid structure in place.

You will report into an experienced and personable Group Financial Controller, work closely with the Financial Accounting Manager, managing an efficient and experienced team and be abusiness partner to the Finance Director & CEO for monthly analysis and commentary.

This is a very hands on role, which entails preparing tailored global financial reporting and developing appropriate analysis, including monthly management accounts, analysis of business performance, annual budgets and 5 year plans.

Soon, you will support the IT team to implement a new global financial planning and management accounts reporting system, so it's imperative you're excited by the prospect of being finance lead for a more detailed and fitting reporting tool.

We're looking for a CIMA/ACA/ACCA Qualified Accountant with at least 10 years' experience inmanagement accountant within a complex global and constantly evolving commercial environment, ideally with manufacturing and costing experience.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage and prepare the management accounts packs for the companies' two divisions and support analysis to agreed deadlines and quality standards
  • Prepare tailored monthly financial reporting including insightful commercial analysis, concise commentary on business performance, KPIs and trends globally
  • Report on sales, margins, manufacturing, overheads and working capital to facilitate effective decision making within the business
  • Manage and support a team of 6 Management Accountants
  • Working with Group IT to lead the implementation of a new global financial planning and management accounts reporting system
  • Prepare the monthly reporting timetable and coordinate achievement of the deadlines
  • Prepare monthly P&L forecasts
  • Coordinate the budget processes and prepare timely and accurate consolidated information
  • Prepare timely and accurate consolidated information packs and analysis for the Divisional 5 Year Plan
  • Support several areas of the business including preparing the management accounts and appropriate analysis, ensuring all transactions are accounted for accurately, appropriately and in line with accounting policies and best practice
  • Ensure the integrity of the General Ledger and that all transactions are accounted for appropriately


To be successful in this role, you will be an effective team manager, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong attention to detail, be proactive and self-motivated, and demonstrate curiosity and innovating thinking with advanced Excelskills.
