    Description

    Data Systems Engineer

    • Job Type: Full-time
    • Location: Norwich/Ipswich/Cambridge - 3 days in the office, 2 working from home.
    • Salary: £40,000 - £42,500

    Join an innovative professional services organization that is expanding its data team. We are looking for a Data Systems Engineer to be part of the Data & Systems Team in the IT Development Department. This position is perfect for someone who loves working with data, analyzing it, and using ETL/ELT techniques. You will be responsible for providing 3rd line support for in-house and external systems, handling DBA tasks, and managing database deployments.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with the Data and Systems team to implement solutions and deployments.
    • Promote a culture of continuous improvement in data-related system design and development.
    • Stay current with industry-standard technical knowledge and trends.
    • Offer 3rd line support for in-house and external systems.
    • Execute DBA tasks and oversee efficient database deployments.

    Required Skills & Qualifications:

    • Data-related qualifications or relevant experience.
    • Proven track record of successful ETL/ELT process implementation.
    • Thorough understanding of data and analytical processing technologies, such as transactional databases, SQL Server, various cloud platforms, and services.
    • Proficiency in RDMS, especially SQL Server 2016 and above.
    • Experience with APIs and integrating systems through 3rd party APIs.
    • Familiarity with Azure data factory, event hubs, and data bricks.
    • Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
    • Strong analytical and problems-solving skills.
    • Ability to perform effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
    • Capability to handle multiple priorities efficiently.
    • Readiness to travel when required and take on additional job-related tasks.
    • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Positive and enthusiastic team player.
    • Highly analytical, self-motivated, and committed to continuous learning and growth.
