This is an exciting opportunity to lead the Gynaecology Outpatient Clinic Reception & Clerical Team and play a central role in the development of new ways of working to ensure Patients receive the best possible outpatient experience.


Working in a strong multidisciplinary environment you will manage a team of up to 10 staff, developing consistent and high quality processes and procedures that ensure the staff provide best possible service to the women and their partners who attend the Gynaecology Outpatient Clinic.


The Gynaecology Outpatient Clinic hosts a range of services supporting the women of Sheffield and the wider South Yorkshire region.


Ensure that staff are professionally presented and there are an appropriate number of front desk computer terminals in use to manage patient flow in and out of the department.


Overseeing the management of the outpatient pathway, ensuring notes are prepared, organised, tracked and appropriately filed ready for the clinical team prior to appointments.


Managing and ensuring accurate reconciliation of each clinic, including the arranging of future appointments for women before they leave the department where necessary.

Collating relevant data and responding to data quality issues raised & presenting this back when required.


Ensuring a high level of Customer Service is experienced by all patients and their relatives, confidentiality is maintained at all times and high-quality data is captured at every stage of the patient's journey through the Gynaecology Service.


Responsible for the first line management of the staff within the team including rota coordination and the management of sickness and performance including annual appraisals.


Managing the rota to ensure appropriate cover at all times to provide a safe level of care, including involvement of staff retention and recruitment.
