Are you looking for a new challenge within acute elderly medicine setting?Ward 4 is an elderly medicine ward specialising in complex health and illness in older adults.
We pride ourselves in our multidsiciplinary approach to deliver compassionate patient centred holistic care to our patients.
The successful candidate must have a keen interest in working with older people, be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and be active in developing and enhancing your current skills.
As a valued team member, you will be expected to support other staff members on the ward and have a desire to deliver high standards of nursing care.
The ideal candidate will be friendly, empathetic and patient with a keen desire to ensure that the care delivered is if the best quality standard.
This is an ideal opportunity for both newly qualified and registered nurses who have a passion for caring for Elderly patients.
Fixed Term 6 months
The successful candidate will be a professional and promote the highest possible standard of care to their patients.
You will provide physical, emotional and psychological support to enable patients to achieve their goals, optimise levels of independence and ensure a safe discharge from hospital.
The role requires you to accept professional accountability for patients when assessing, planning and implementing their care plans ensuring person centred care is delivered.
Alongside the nursing team, you will owrk alongside doctors, therapists and other multipdisciplinary members in developing and maintaining patient safety and ensuring a positive hospital experience.
The successful candidate will be supported and encouraged with training and development.We are a national centre for telemedicine and introduced telehealth to the UK offender healthcare sector and also provide the service to patients in their care homes.

Maintain a high standard of patient care as associate nurse/named nurse. Be able to assess, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of patient care.
Act as a role model for junior staff.
Undertake training as required in respect of the extended role ie IV cannulation, Drug Administration and venepuncture.
Assist medical staff and ascertain medical treatment and reports patient condition to medical staff and receive instructions.
Carry out nursing procedures and acts at all times in a professional manner.
To be responsible for your professional practice and for complying with the relevant standards and codes of practice set by your regulatory or professional body.
Assists in requesting of repairs and advise patients on the care of their property.
Communicate and co-operate with other nursing units and departments as required.
Report accidents, untoward occurrences, complaints, loss or damage of equipment theft and report to Sister/Charge Nurse/Service Manager immediately in accordance with hospital policy and document appropriately.
Demonstrates knowledge of care planning and evaluation
Recent experience of nursing acute medical patients
Able to work internal rotation, including night shift
