The International IDCS Quality Control Technician will validate and review all rack builds, confirming that they meet all customer integration standards and requirements under the direction of the Lead Quality Control Technician.
The Technician will document and fix errors or escalate build issues to the Lead Quality Control Technician.This position will be reporting to the UK IDCS manager and will be required to report to the SHI UK Nexus office location as determined by SHI management.

Perform build specific quality checks throughout build process following the Internal Quality Control Checklist over the course of 3 Quality ChecksReview customer Integration Documentation and decipher configuration specifics, such as rack elevation, port/slot layout and connectivity, confirming the devices and physical rack layout meet customer expectations
Capture images and thoroughly document racks for customer approval at multiple times during the build by following the IDCS process and a project specific photo template, ensuring all relevant information is visible in each photo and packet is complete and approved by management before rack ships to customer
Attend Project Kickoff meetings with the Build and Engineering Teams to call out any potential quality issues or concerns from previous or current builds
Review hardware inventory logs captured from all racked devices to confirm that all custom configuration specifics, such as BIOS checks, MAC captures, DHCP configuration, and array controller configuration settings meet customer expectations.
Confirm that every label on every cable matches the customer labeling configuration specifics, including font, spacing and naming conventionsConfirm all cable routing is neat and follows customer standards
Confirm that all data captured for purposes of electronic distribution (EDI), plus all required logical data is in the template and format that the customer requested

Update, improve upon, and create new Quality Control processes and documentation to eliminate redundancies while reducing the overall Quality Control cycle time
Ability to proofread, recognize and correct mistakes and communicate mistakes to the QC and Build teams
Ability to operate a camera or smart phone for photo documentation
Ability to address project issue and remain professional
Ability to work under pressure and meet build ship dates
Ability to comprehend Quality Control processes, including build check lists, as defined by the internal team
Ability to work with several teams, including data center build technicians, solution consultants and engineering
Superior collaboration and communication skills: team building, conflict resolution, stakeholder management and decision making.
Knowledge of SharePoint
Experience of server / rack based building.
Extended hours may be required to complete some special projects
Business working hours are Monday to Friday, 09.However due to the nature of the role, with its international reach and shared projects, working outside of these hours to service business needs will occur occasionally, and employees are expected to be readily available in these eventualities
