We are expanding and have an amazing TERM TIME ONLY opportunity for an experience Cook Supervisor to join our award-winning team at a new site in Wembley.
As a Cook Supervisor you will lead in the delivery of a professional, customer led and responsive catering service within a secondary school. As Cook Supervisor you will be involved lead a small team in a range of duties associated with delivery high volume lunch time service (including food ordering, preparation, service, food storage, administration and associated domestic duties), contributing to a well-run, large-scale catering operation. You will draw upon your knowledge and experience to ensure all duties are carried out in compliance with current service and operational related standards, regulations and legislation.

In the school environment, the focus is on delivering high-quality food services involving planning, preparation, presentation, and serving of food according to approved menus and recipes. This extends to various meal occasions such as breakfasts, sandwiches, snacks, vending machine items, special functions, buffets, and daily lunch services. Ensuring proper portioning and accountability of food, along with providing information on menu items including production methods and allergens, is crucial. Collaboration with team management and school personnel is essential to plan menus celebrating religious and cultural festivals. Activities aimed at enhancing service popularity among pupils, parents, and the wider school community are implemented as needed. Operational and kitchen administration tasks are meticulously completed, involving cash handling, staff management, performance monitoring, and compliance with regulations. Adherence to safety protocols, proper stock handling and storage, and regular checks to meet service-related regulations are paramount. Maintaining cleanliness standards in designated areas and equipment is emphasised, along with continuous self-development through training and participation in development activities. Supervisory responsibilities include overseeing kitchen staff, fostering teamwork, conducting appraisals, supporting staff development, and ensuring smooth operations in the absence of regular staff. Creating an environment conducive to innovation and staff growth is integral to achieving optimal performance.
