Description
About the RoleLiverpool City Council is looking to recruit a full time Assistant Solicitor to join the team of experienced Child Care lawyers until 7 January 2025 to cover maternity leave.
The successful candidate will hold an individual caseload of child protection matters and will have conduct of care proceedings and related matters. You will be confident in undertaking advocacy as required.
In depth knowledge of the Children Act 1989, Adoption and Children Act 2002 and related legislation is required. Experience of working in local government is desirable but not essential. We offer a generous annual leave entitlement, local government pension scheme, flexible working arrangements and a work environment which gives you the chance to use and develop your skills within a forward-thinking service.
This is an opportunity to work in an exciting and forward thinking local authority as part of a dynamic and multi-disciplinary legal department during the implementation of change and improvement plans following the recent Best Value report on the Council. The work will be fast paced and highly varied in nature. These posts present an attractive and challenging opportunity for highly motivated individuals to bring their enthusiasm to the team and to build on their experience.
