    Job overview

    We are seeking a self motivated and enthusiastic Cardiac Physiologist/Healthcare Scientist to join our cardiology team in the Clinical Measurement Department.

    Essential skills in provocative testing including tilt table testing, MEST and ambulatory monitoring analysis and reporting is required. Experience in cardiac catheterisation and Physiologist Led Palpitation clinic is desirable.

    This is a permanent post. Applicants will need to demonstrate proven competency in your specialty. The core hours of the department are 8am - 6pm.

    Applicants must hold BSc ( HONS) Degree in Health Care Science or equivalent qualification and post graduate experience. Consideration may be given to PTP /Healthcare Science apprenticeship students with an interest in cardiology who are about to qualify. Salary adjustment will be made in accordance to their skills/qualifications.

    Main duties of the job

    • Performs, analyses, interprets and reports on a broad range of diagnostic investigations ensuring they are delivered in a timely and professional manner
    • Approves and authorises specialised reports generated by other clinical physiologists
    • Undertakes training and supervision of trainees and other professionals
    • Participates in the out of hours On Call rota
    • Rotate between UHDB (University Hospitals of Derby and Burton) and community diagnostic centres as required

    • BSC (HONS) Degree in Health Care Science or equivalent qualification
    • Experience in non - invasive cardiology tests and procedures

    Experience & Knowledge

    • Post graduate experience in cardiology
    • Broad range of knowledge in theoretical applications in cardiology
    • Experience in training and assessment of junior staff

    Communication

    • Excellent communications skills with patients, staff, colleagues, GPs/ doctors
    • Clear and concise report writing
