    Job summary

    An opportunity has arisen for a psychotherapist to join the Youth Team in Great Yarmouth and Waveney. This is an innovative service working with young people aged 14-25 and their families. We are a friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team and are passionate about working together to offer formulation driven and psychologically informed care to the young people who we support.

    The successful candidate will join an established psychology team which contains both clinical psychologists and psychological therapists. Our psychology team offers a variety of therapies including CBT, CAT and EMDR, and supports the wider team to offer psychologically informed work through supervision, consultation and formulation. We also have links with a family therapy team. Our team of therapists are experienced and highly skilled and there is a strong ethos of joint work and support which makes this a fulfilling role.

    The role will involve working with young people with a range of complex presenting problems and their families and will include direct therapeutic work, as well as working with the team to provide psychological thinking around cases. Regular supervision will be available from within the team.

    As a whole team we are keen to continue developing and to ensure that we are offering the best possible service to the young people we work with, in terms of the way the service functions and the types of interventions available.

    Main duties of the job

    Contribute to the provision of the Psychological Therapy Services within NSFTWork as part of the multi-disciplinary team, carrying a caseload of clientsReceive regular supervision in line with the Trust Policies and responsible for management ofown caseload and ensuring high standards of care are maintained in line with Trust policiesand professional codes of practiceSupervision and consultancy to other mental health professionals and involved in thedevelopment of Psychological Therapy provision within the locality as appropriateAccountable for accurate mental health clustering of all patients in caseload on admission,discharge and at review all mental health clustering information is passed onto other Trust teams or services ontransfer of patients.Responsible for maintaining the accuracy and quality of mental health clustering activity withinthe team

    Provide a professional assessment and treatment service to clients referredAccountable, under supervision, for own clinical actions as a provider of a specialistpsychological interventionRespond to referrals in a timely, professional mannerMaintain timely, accurate and evidence based records of treatments and interventions inaccordance with Trust and professional standardsMaintain and develop collaborative and evidence based psychological treatment a high level of communication skills, recognising and reflecting the need for differentstyles and methods of communication to meeting therapeutic needsMaintain good communication links with colleagues to ensure optimum care of clientsMaintain an awareness of resources available to enhance opportunities for clients inmaintaining positive mental healthOffer advice, support and psycho-education to clients, their carers and if appropriate ourpartner agencies, ensuring the conditions of the confidentiality sharing agreements are metAttend and contribute to the regular multidisciplinary team meetingsAttend CPA and 117 meetings where clients are care co-ordinated in secondary care

    Take part and contribute to the regular training sessionsProvide referrers and other professionals with written summaries of assessment formulationand treatment outcomesDischarge statutory social care functions as delegated under Section 75 agreement withNorfolk and Suffolk County Councils for Service Users and Carers on behalf of theorganisation.Provide appropriate health and social care interventions according to service users recoverygoalsAssess health and social care needs as part of an integrated team, andimplement/commission packages of care where appropriate

    Undertake surveys and audits.Regularly undertake research and development and clinical trials

    Perform all duties in a professional manner and follow, at all times, the codes of conduct laiddown by the relevant professional bodyBe professionally and legally accountable for clinical treatment providedPractice in accordance with Trust policies on confidentiality, equal opportunities and antidiscriminationUndertake the training required to maintain accreditation with the BABCP / ACAT / UKCPParticipate and maintain mandatory and CPD trainingAttend and actively participate in own appraisals and complete, on a regular basis aprofessional developmental portfolioProvide specialised individual and group supervision to colleagues in the team as required andagreed with Clinical Team Leader

    Qualifications

    Essential

  • Health or Social Care professional qualification RMN, Dip OT, Degree or equivalent in Social Work or equivalent
  • Postgraduate diploma in CBT
  • Registration with appropriate professional body
  • Experience

  • Documentary evidence of continuing professional development

  • Training and ability to deliver other therapeutic approaches DBT, EMDR, CAT
