Direct Response Employment Services are delighted to be supporting our client on the outskirts of Shaftesbury who are looking for a supervisor to join the team on a permanent basis managing stock, Goods in and general warehouse supervisory experience.


You will be responsible for supervising the performance and maintenance of the warehouse and stock control activities of the organisation with the responsibility for the supervision of the day to day activities of the warehouse team.


Key Duties:

  • Forecast supply and demand to prevent overstocking and running OOS
  • Store & rack goods in warehouse ensuring space is efficiently utilised
  • Ensure stock is well located and accessible at all times
  • Coordinate regular inventory audits
  • To help implement a new WMS system and then maintain going forward


  • Supervise Goods Inwards

  • Achieve high levels of customer satisfaction through excellence in receiving, identifying and assuring quality of goods
  • Measuring and reporting the effectiveness of warehousing activities and team performance
  • Organising and maintaining stock and storage area
  • Ordering stock from offsite storage and to coordinate with logistics
  • Good knowledge of using and updating excel spreadsheets to maintain stock
  • Coordinate and supervise the team unloading the container and the counting of shipping container deliveries and ensure space is made available in advance
  • Stock replenishment and FLT driving
  • Plan & forecast space requirements
  • BRC daily & monthly paperwork checks
  • Line management of the team, including all reviews, L&D and succession planning
  • Use own initiative to come up with new ideas and to make warehouse operations more efficient and organised
  • Prepare premises for next day's work
  • Help to cover day to day operations when the Warehouse Manager is away (including monthly fire door check and weekly fire alarm checks).
  • Pick, pack & despatch as required to support team


To be considered for this role you will have previous experience within a similar role, supervisory experience and a Counterbalance Forklift licence / Reach FLT licence.


This is a permanent role working Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week but will require someone to be flexible during peak times and a starting salary of £26,000 - £28,000 per annum.


Please note due to the location of the site having access to your own transport is a must, as there is no public transport links to the location.
