The role
As a Senior Buyer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary.

The role will be involved in the end-to-end procurement cycle which means you'll be involved from initial customer demand to delivery to platform.

No two days will be the same and you'll be working with different categories of suppliers.

You will be integral in saving the company and the customer money in the current time of national cost challenges.


Day to day, you'll:

  • Prepare, issue and review supplier quote requests, recommending preferred options to the relevant stakeholders
  • Converting purchase requisitions to purchase orders and issuing to suppliers, negotiating appropriate T&C's for the protection of the organisation
  • Manage and develop supplier relationships
  • Develop and implement improvement initiatives in line with business objectives
  • Proactive supplier order book management activities
  • Provide support and escalation routes for members of the team
  • Support the Project Procurement Manager in operational and strategic requirements

Essential experience of the Senior Buyer,

  • Proven procurement experience, ideally in an operational procurement environment
  • Experience in sourcing new materials and services
  • Supplier Relationship Management experience
  • Must have a flexible approach to workload, confident reading and understanding technical drawings and ability to communicate complex requirements to/from supply chain.
This role provides hybrid working with a minimum of 2 days per week in the office. You must be able and willing to work longer periods of time in the office as the programme develops.


Qualifications for the Senior Buyer,

  • A recognised degree level qualification and/or relevant engineering/supply chain/lean culture experience.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body e.g. CIPS at level 4 or above
