Job Title:
Purchase Ledger Clerk

  • Starting salary up to £25,000 depending on experience
  • Working hours: 8 am 4 pm
  • Location: Manchester City Centre
Agility is delighted to be working with a Family Run business based in Manchester City Centre. They help companies create their dream office space. They are looking for a Purchase ledger clerk/Junior Finance Assistant to join their expanding team. They are looking for someone who is motivated and has a passion to develop. They are a successful business, and you will be joining a team of 4.

The Purchase Ledger Clerk will join the Accounts Team and help maintain a high standard of financial control. This is a broad and varied role with key responsibilities.


What you will be doing:

  • High volume of purchase ledger invoice processing
  • Inputting supplier payments
  • Resolving creditor queries & statements
  • Chase outstanding debt
  • Assist with recharging costs to tenants
  • Credit control, debtor statements and calls
  • Intracompany recharging
  • Tenant recharging
  • Utilities reconciliation and recharging
  • Service charge Accounting including yearend rec, budgets, tenant on account etc
  • Processing expense claims & petty cash
  • Assist with VAT reporting and submissions
  • Assist with yearend financial reporting with external auditors
  • Liaising with senior managers with analysis of revenue/costs used in the business.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage own workload
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Completing work to deadlines
  • Maintain positive internal and external relationships.
  • Demonstrate cultural competency in all interactions.
  • Contribute positively towards a strong team culture.
  • Other tasks in addition to those listed above as requested by Finance Manager and Director of the business.
  • Such duties to be carried out in a timely, accurate manner and in accordance with the policies and procedures.

About you:

  • Fully qualified with a BSc degree in Accounting, finance or relevant field preferred
  • Experience in an Accounting/finance environment
  • Knowledge of accounting regulations would be an advantage
  • Ability to work efficiently
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple/competing priorities.
