Assistant Buyer

Salary:
Up to £30,000 DOE

Grafton Recruitment are delighted to partner with a leading retail company as they continue to expand their high value, customer-focused offering throughout the UK.


This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Assistant Buyer looking to develop their career by joining an experienced and dynamic Buying team with real opportunities for growth and progression.


The successful Assistant Buyer will support the Senior Buyer in a key role to source popular merchandise that will drive sales and profits with competitive rates and maintaining the brand emphasis on high value and service.


The Role:


  • Delivering a fast response to sourcing competitive deals
  • Developing instore ranges across the seasons
  • Keeping up to date with market trends and competitor offerings
  • Identifying opportunities for introducing new product ranges
  • Forecasting sales and stock replenishment ordering
  • Creating strong relationships with existing and new suppliers

You will need:


  • Previous buying experience
  • Experience working within an FMCG environment preferably Health/Beauty, Confectionary/Grocery or Household products
  • Proactive and innovative approach
  • Excellent communications skills and ability to maintain relationships with traders and suppliers
  • Strong Microsoft skills, especially Excel
  • Accurate reporting and sales forecasting
