PR Assistant Job Description:


Responsibilities:


  • Media Monitoring: Keeping track of media coverage, including news articles, blog posts, social media mentions, and other relevant content related to the organization or client.
  • Press Release Writing: Assisting in the creation, writing, and editing of press releases to announce newsworthy events, product launches, or organizational updates.
  • Media Relations: Building and maintaining positive relationships with journalists, bloggers, influencers, and other media professionals. This includes managing media contact databases and distributing press releases or media kits.
  • Content Creation: Developing engaging content for various PR channels, such as social media platforms, websites, newsletters, and internal communications.
  • Event Coordination: Assisting in the planning, organization, and execution of PR events, including press conferences, product launches, trade shows, and promotional activities.
  • Social Media Management: Managing social media accounts, creating, and scheduling content, responding to comments and messages, and monitoring engagement and analytics.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct research on industry trends, competitors, target audiences, and relevant topics to support PR strategies and campaigns. Analysing data and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of PR initiatives.
  • Crisis Communication: Assisting in managing and responding to crisis situations or reputation risks, including drafting statements or responses, coordinating with the PR team, and monitoring media coverage.
  • Administrative Support: Providing general administrative assistance to the PR team, such as scheduling meetings, managing calendars, organizing files, and handling correspondence.
  • Brand Monitoring: Monitoring and managing the organization's or client's online presence and reputation, including review sites, social media platforms, and online communities.
  • Internal Communication: Assisting in the development and distribution of internal communications, such as employee newsletters, memos, and announcements.
  • Media Database Management: Maintaining and updating media contact databases, ensuring accuracy and relevancy of contact information.
  • Press Clipping and Reporting: Collecting and organizing media clippings and coverage reports to track the success and impact of PR campaigns.
  • Photography and Videography: Assisting in capturing visual content for PR purposes, such as photos and videos for social media, websites, and promotional materials.
  • Industry Monitoring: Staying updated on industry news, trends, and developments to identify opportunities and potential PR strategies.
  • Additional tasks as requested by the General Manager including delivery of corporate newsletter.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in public relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to draft compelling content and effectively interact with media professionals, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Strong writing and editing abilities, with attention to detail and the ability to proofread and edit accurately.
  • Familiarity with media relations practices and an understanding of media operations.
  • Proficiency in digital and social media platforms, with experience in social media management, content creation, and engagement strategies.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize assignments, and meet deadlines.
  • Research and analytical skills, with the ability to gather and analyse data to support PR strategies.
  • Creativity and the ability to think innovatively in developing PR approaches and content ideas.
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well with a PR team and other departments.
  • Adaptability and resilience in a fastpaced environment.
  • Familiarity with PR tools and software, such as media monitoring platforms, content management systems, and analytics software, is beneficial.
  • Previous experience in a PR or communicationsrelated role is a plus.

£20,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
