Job overview:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the hepatitis CNS team.

The post holder will work closely with the senior CNS's in the team in delivering patient focused care. They will help run a nurse led service in treating patients with hepatitis B and C.

As part of the NHSE hepatitis C elimination target by 2025, some of the workload will be in the community setting, including a clinic on a community van, but this will be with support from colleagues.

The aim is to find and treat as many patients with hepatitis C as possible.

The hepatitis B workload will be hospital based clinics to monitor patients and decide when to commence hepatitis B anti-viral treatment.

This will be under supervision of the senior team members and consultants.

Main duties, tasks & skills required:

This post requires a motivated and ambitious nurse to work as part of an established team to help develop services.

Once training has taken place you will have a caseload of patients to follow with support and supervision.

Good communication skills to deal with a complex group of patients and the ability to provide education of patients about their disease and treatment, will be essential in this role.

There will be a requirement to attend the weekly hepatitis MDT meeting, present patients and respond swiftly to instructions/outcomes.

The post is part time for 22.5 hrs a week during Monday-Friday, the days of work will be dependent on clinic requirement.

Some flexibility in hours can be considered. The office base is in Nuffield House.
