Position Overview
Avantor Services provides laboratory solutions to leading businesses in the life science industry.


We have an opportunity for a Stores and Procurement Coordinator to join our team at AstraZeneca, the purpose of the role is to support the procurement and inventory management of Laboratory Consumables, Chemicals, and Equipment and the archiving of crucialdocuments in a packing facility.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely procurement and receipt of materials to support the testing schedule to agreed SLAs
  • Receipt, replenishment, and distribution of inventory to meet enduser demands, utilizing industryleading inventory management technology to track usage and continually optimize stocking levels
  • Monitoring the SharePoint ordering tool and raising adhoc orders using the Coupa system
  • Actively encourage safe working practices
  • Working to GMP standards at all times and with a high level of attention to detail
  • Act as a Point of Contact for customers, actively engaging with them on a regular basis to understand their business requirements
  • Troubleshooting procurement problems
  • Liaison with AZ procurement and external suppliers to leverage the best price, and proactively manage consignment stock
  • Minimise overstocks and removal of obsolete consumables to maximize the availability of working capital
  • Manage control measures to ensure mistakes, inaccuracies and discrepancies are highlighted, addressed, and resolved
  • Assist in the creation, maintenance, and updating of relevant documentation in support of service delivery, compliance, and training
  • Contribute to reporting KPIs, metrics, SLAs, cost center reports and weekly tasks
  • Proactively identify and support operational effectiveness by process improvements
  • Data entry and analysis using packages including excel if required
  • Participate in lab organizational activities and Avantor team Daily Huddles
  • Maintain stationary consumables
  • Provide key metrics in line with relevant goals and targets
  • Onboarding and training new members of the team

Experience Required

  • Proven ability to manage customers' expectations and provide a professional level of customer service
  • Excellent problemsolving capabilities and confidence to make clear decisions sometimes with limited information
  • Manual handling of items requiring bending, reaching, lifting, or carrying objects is a daily task, so you must be able to carry out these tasks
  • IT proficient, especially in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Some aspects of this role may be in a manufacturing facility where there will be no jewelry or makeup allowed and requiring a change of clothes (PPE wearing) to enter the facility
