Senior Warehouse Manager

Our client based in Biggleswade is looking for an experienced Senior Warehouse Manager to run there warehouse for 1 year.

Roles and responsibilities

Ensure the warehouse operates at peak efficiency, with customer satisfaction being the primary goal
To foster crossteam cooperation ensuring that workflow priorities are met across all teams. Communication and organisation are paramount to avoid any confusion between areas and shifts.
Manage strategies that raise standards of behaviour, performance, knowledge and experience at both team and individual level.
Ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) are met and regularly reviewed to ensure they are relevant, achievable, and meet stakeholder expectations.
Oversee daily operations while controlling and managing inventory and logistics and promote continuous improvements.
Keeping up to date with policies that affect warehouses and ensuring they are implemented when relevant to comply with legal regulations, including but not exclusively Health & Safety, working time directive.
Lead and support the team ensuring the business provides a customerfocused, high quality service to all its clients/customers.
Ensure the strictest level of confidentiality is kept and any issues dealt with in a sensitive and appropriate manner
Monitor and review processes for ways to make procedures more efficient and effective.
To assist in ensuring that the department's procedures are clearly documented and updated as and when necessary.
Promote a positive and inclusive attitude with other departments and strive to improve working relationships within all stakeholders internal and external.
Be proactive in the search for continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the client/customers experience and improve efficiencies within the warehouse.
Responsible for ensuring Health & Safety policies and procedures are met.
Liaise with other internal departments.
Ensure that potential problems are understood, and enhancements can be made
Report to your line manager if your workload or your team's workload is not achievable.

Employee Management

Steer the personal development of direct reports by carrying out frequent performance/coaching meetings ensuring 121's take place. In cases of underperformance to initiate the company performance procedure.
To provide support and guidance to the Team Leaders and, as appropriate, the team.
Communicate effectively with the team in respect of day to day activity and more general or longerterm workflow planning.
Monitor, track, and report performance of KPI's and SLA's, share with the team to ensure targets are met or exceeded.
Liaise and consult with HR on any relevant matters.

General

Ensure, Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental standards and all related company policies are adhered to, raising any issues to the relevant parties.
Ensure any accident/near miss or other Health & Safety documentation, including investigations, are completed in a timely manner.
Take responsible care for your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by what you do or what you fail to do.
Ensure the appropriate Manager/Director is informed of department status, including but not limited to performance, team and individual, issues procedural changes and potential future developments, raising concerns in a timely manner.
Any other duties or tasks as may be reasonably requested.
