Full time, Fixed term until 01/05/2025Location: Leeds, Leeds International Study CentreSalary: Up to £42,335.07 per annumWe are seeking a qualified Maths and Physics Tutor to design and implement successful educational programs aimed at preparing international students for entry-level undergraduate studies at both the University of Leeds and Leeds Beckett University.

Additionally, the role involves providing support to students in their pursuit of meeting their academic progression requirements.

ABOUT THE ROLEPlan and execute appropriate, effective and inclusive learning programmes through schemes of workPlan teaching sessions which accommodate individualised learning using a variety of resources, including digital learningEnsure a broad range of learning materials are available on the VLE for students to access and engage with, including self-directed tasks and activities that facilitate feedback and interactionApply the principles of learning and teaching to provide learning activities to meet curriculum requirements and the needs of all studentsSelect the relevant learning approaches and skill development to ensure students' progress.

Apply the theories and principles of assessment including initial, diagnostic, formative and summative assessmentUse a variety of methods to check learning in lessons (formative assessment)Ensure that interactive assessment activities are available to students through the VLEWrite summative assessments which appropriately measure the achievement of the learning outcomes of the programmes (including repeat assessments)Prepare students for summative assessment through revision sessions and practice assessmentsEngage in moderation of assessment materials and student work, including double marking, thorough and timely preparation of all relevant documentation for the external examiners, and participation in module assessment boardsSupport students with individual target setting and revise these throughout the year during progress checksSupport students with action planning to improve academic performance and achieve aspirational targetsBe available to offer support to students as required (e.g.

workshops, booster and revision classes and one-to-one feedback sessions)Contribute to student progress reports in a clear and constructive mannerDemonstrate and update subject specialist knowledge to ensure the currency of specialist teachingABOUT YOUMinimum of Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Physics or related area (essential)A relevant teaching qualification or post-graduate degree (desirable)Experience of teaching in the Higher or Further Education sectors or of Leaving Certificate (Hons)/A-level (essential)Experience of working with international students (desirable)ABOUT USStudy Group is a leading international education provider that is dedicated and passionate about helping students around the world, creating a brighter future and reaching their full potential.
