_OBJECTIVE _
To work as a reception Security Officer, providing a high level of customer service. Act as the first point of contact for all staff and visitors entering the building. Liaise with the client and building tenants. Managing with the Building Manager all Contractors working on site. Ensuring the protection of persons and property and thereby the provision of a safe and secure environment.


_DUTIES_

  • The Reception Desk is to be always manned except where duties demand.
  • Monitor and maintain the reception area in a clean and tidy manner, ensure visitor waiting area is clear from litter and any marketing documentation, newspapers etc. are tidied regularly throughout the day.
  • Be responsible for all floral or plant displays and their maintenance and disposal, contacting the suppliers to rectify any issues identified.
  • Monitor CCTV and investigate any suspicious activity ensuring both the Contract Manager and client are kept up to date. Report any system faults to the client.
  • Ensure that all logbooks, print outs and registers are maintained in accordance with the Company and the client requirements.
  • Maintain live and up to date records of building information as instructed by the Building Manager.
  • Maintain the daily with details of any work which may impact or trigger alarms and or other emergency systems, out of hour's contractors, deliveries, planned evacuations, maintenance works etc.
  • Ensure that all appropriate key(s), equipment, and documentation are properly accounted for. The key cabinets must be kept neat and tidy, all keys tagged with the key register clearly visible next to the cabinets.
  • Quarterly detailed key audit to be carried out as per agreed dates.
  • Liaise with the senior officer or counterpart or the Contract Manager for any problems that may occur throughout the shift.
  • Report any defects or malfunctioning equipment in the reception area at the time of discovery or as soon as practically possible. The Building Manager must also be notified at the earliest opportunity where necessary by the Reception Officer.
  • Patrolling out of hours
  • Reporting and management of building faults out of hours
  • Creation of detailed handovers and reports
  • Cover for Senior officer Monday to Friday when on leave or absence

_PERSON SPECIFICATION_: Qualifications:

  • Officers must have the Security Industry Training Organisation qualification.
  • Possess a high level of telephone etiquette with a friendly and calm disposition.
  • Carry and be capable or using all security equipment necessary to efficiently perform the duties required of a professional security reception officer.

Training: -

  • Officers must undergo a minimum of 1 day,1 night on site trainingsite
  • All records of training to be ready and signed.
  • Risk Assessments to be read and signed.

Aptitudes and attitudes: -

The post holder must be able to demonstrate:

  • Good literacy and communication skills and have excel verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess good telephone etiquette.
  • Be computer literate, Email, Word, and Excel.
  • Personal attributes:
  • A consistently smart appearance in the uniform provided and required by UniTrust.
  • Reliability, energetic, selfmotivation, and ability to use own initiative and work without supervision. Be able to cope with multiple tasks in a calm professional manner.
  • Excellent timekeeping always.
  • The ability, tact, and diplomacy to deal with people at all levels including the client, the client's tenants and visitors in all circumstances including emergencies and other times of stress.
  • An excellent level of physical fitness to enable the post holder to perform patrol and emergency response duties efficiently and effectively.
