Kennedys is looking for a IBA Collections Controller to join our Financial Operations team based in Chelmsford on a permanent contract.

The successful IBA Collections Controller will work as part of the Credit Control team, alongside the Billing, Cashiering and Finance Database teams, to provide a proactive support service to the Firm.

Kennedys Finance team support the firm globally producing timely and accurate financial and management information, reporting solutions and operational support to maintain the high standard of service offered to the firm's internal and external clients.


Our Finance team is made up of Financial Control, Financial Planning and Reporting, Management Accountants, Credit Control, Legal Cashiers and Billers and Financial Operations Database teams.

Our UK Finance team is based in Chelmsford and London and have a presence in eight global offices.


Key Responsibilities

  • To identify types of market we are invoicing e.g Lloyds, Lirma, ILU, Company, overseas and use the appropriate collection method for each
  • Have a good understanding of policies when setting up new market collections
  • Ensure that appropriate invoice debts are collected via the Class / ECF collection platform in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining accurate notes on the credit control database which is used to keep a record of outstanding invoices and may be used to manage the scheduling of payment chasing
  • Seek the relevant authorisations needed from market leads to proceed with collection of our invoices
  • Working collaboratively with the other finance teams (cashiering, billing and database) to provide an excellent service to our partners and clients
  • Take ownership of the DXC remittance mailbox
  • Provide Administrational tasks and assist Claims Technician
  • Process our Invoices onto Gemini Collections (no experience needed as this is a new collection platform)

Required experience

  • Knowledge of Lloyds bureau markets and collections
  • Some Knowledge understanding of ECF / Class
  • Some understanding of policy schedules, stamps and signings
  • Good level of IT skills, including Word and Excel
