We are now looking for a General Operative based in Hetton.

Working 39 hours a week, the current working pattern is days Monday to Thursday and Friday mornings however we will be looking to move to a shift pattern in the near future.


The primary objective for the General Operator is the efficient handling of materials to ensure unloading, loading and processing of product through the facility and to dispatch finished product to ensure OTIF.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the loading and unloading of vehicles with raw materials, finished goods and full assemblies.
  • Storage of product and components within given guidelines to ensure safety and quality is maintained.
  • Ensure transport personnel visiting the site are managed and controlled.
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed in full and in a timely manner to ensure accuracy and traceability of products in and out of the site and within each of the processes.
  • Move materials around the site to support operational needs and ensure production has materials available for processing.
  • Operate machinery and equipment to assist in the manufacture of products, where trained and when required, due to absence or a given priority.
  • Storing rail and components in the correct manner to ensure adherence to all required standards, ensuring product quality is assured at all times.
  • Cooperate with team members, line managers to ensure that site activities are completed in accordance with company HSEQ policy and procedures.
  • Work with other team members to maintain an environmentally friendly, clean and tidy site in accordance with company policy and procedures.
  • Undertake daily checks and report plant, tools and materials defects and damage to supervisor/line manager.

Experience & Knowledge

Essential

  • Counterbalance FLT experience.
  • Experience within manufacturing facilities
  • Willing to learn and continually improve.

Desirable

  • Side Loader experience
- ' Long product' experience

  • Product and industry knowledge
