    Description
    The role of New Products Buyer is to ensure effective purchasing and continuously improve the organisation's purchasing operations. The New Products Buyer will bring experience of managing electro-mechanical and other supply chains. Full-time
    £ Competitive + Bonus up to 5% annual salary
    Your key responsibilities include timely and cost-effective procurement, supporting internal departments to ensure purchases reach users as needed.

    You'll take a proactive approach by handling supplier approvals, risk assessment, performance evaluation, and the implementation of supplier contracts.

    A crucial aspect of your role is developing and maintaining procedures and processes within the purchasing department, aligning with ISO9001 standards.

    In supplier selection, you'll identify quality and cost drivers early on to explore cost reduction opportunities while negotiating favourable terms and conditions.

    Your role also involves expediting the supply chain to ensure timely deliveries and maintaining inventory control to minimise obsolescence.
    Additionally, you'll be instrumental in establishing robust, sustainable, and regulatory-compliant supply chains for both new and existing products. Collaboration with the quality department and suppliers will be vital as you contribute to resolving any quality-related issues.

    This position offers a significant opportunity to influence and optimise our procurement processes, contributing to the success of our diverse product portfolio.

    Technical understanding of a range of materials, mechanical and electronic components, and PCBs / assemblies
    Experience of finding and setting up new suppliers and ensuring excellent performance
    Skilled using MRP systems and Microsoft Office
    Minimum of 5 years purchasing experience in an engineering / manufacturing environment
    Experience of developing and improving purchasing/business systems
    Strong communication and interpersonal skills both internally and with external suppliers and contractors
