    Description

    Job Summary:
    We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised individual to join our team as a Estimator/Purchasing Assistant.

    You will play a crucial role in supporting our estimating/purchasing department and ensuring the smooth operation of our supply chain.

    Scope - main tasks and responsibility For Estimating

    Determine the scope of the job required - do we have ability to produce in-house? Do we have tooling, machinery and material?
    Show all workings in full and neatly for others to follow, capturing all detail on appropriate form
    Highlight all that needs typing up on quotation
    Double check your work and calculations
    Check material stock as necessary
    If required, go to sub-contractors to obtain prices and put on a mark-up. Again, negotiate costs if possible

    Receive details of required purchase orders to place with suppliers from various sources (general stock form requests, job card issued, specific requests).

    Determine which suppliers to choose (annotated on paperwork, historic job etc). Negotiate pricing when possible .
    Write out purchase order including full detail .
    Double check details, prices, calculations and email to supplier.
    Request a PO acknowledgement.
    Check order acknowledgement from supplier to purchase order for all details.
    Annotate job card to show goods inwards due date, ensuring material or job will be received in good time.

    In the event of goods not being received as per suppliers acknowledged date, speak to supplier, determine the reason for overdue delivery, amend the job card and pass paperwork for informing customer of late delivery.


    Phones:
    Answer incoming calls and deal with customer queries.


    Training:
    On-site training will be delivered as part of the on-going induction process.

    This will include learning and understanding our in-house production processes, material and product knowledge along with understanding our machines (production).

    This will in turn give a greater understanding off the role of estimator/purchasing assistant.
