Reader Volunteer

Location: Aldershot (Hampshire)

Time Commitment: Flexible

We are looking for a volunteer to befriend and read to someone we support in one of our homes in Aldershot (Hampshire). The volunteer will read the newspaper aloud to someone we support, spending time and providing companionship by visiting them in the home. Skills required

To be kind, empathetic and friendly

To have a good sense of humour and love to chat

To be punctual and reliable

A keen interest in reading/books

To be able to deal with information in line with our data protection and confidentiality procedures

Please note that you will need to be over the age of 18 in order to apply for this role. To apply for this role, please click on the 'apply' button below and complete the application form. Upon receipt of your application, a member of our friendly Volunteering Team will contact you for an informal chat and to explain about the next steps. To ensure the safety of the people we support, we will require a DBS check and two satisfactory references before a volunteer role is confirmed. As you will be volunteering directly with vulnerable individuals, you will also be required to undertake safeguarding training, as well as any training which is specific to the role. About Us
