An exciting opportunity for Healthcare Assistants has arisen to work within the Surgery Division at the City Campus on Oxton unit.


We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and committed Healthcare Assistants and will welcome any forward thinking, caring individuals who are committed to providing a high standard of safe quality patient care.

Working for our organisation


The Elective Orthopaedic Service cares for a variety of Orthopaedic patients ranging from day case surgeries to complexed revision joints aged 16 plus.

We follow the enhanced recovery after surgery programme and work closely with the physiotherapists and occupational therapists with an aim to discharge primary hip and knee replacements 3 days post operatively.


We have a well-established induction and support programme for healthcare assistants, and there are many opportunities for further progression and enhancing your clinical skills.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities


You will be required to carry out a number of designated tasks, of which will involve direct care, in support of and under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Essential criteria

  • Good standard of written and spoken English to an equivalent standard of GCSE grade C or above
Desirable criteria

  • NVQ / QCF 2 in Healthcare
Experience

Essential criteria

  • Previous experience in dealing with patients or clients in a hospital working environment
Desirable criteria

  • Previous experience in a health or social care setting
Communication and relationship skills

Essential criteria

  • Demonstrate clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
Desirable criteria

  • Demonstrate Computer literacy & use of IT skills

Salary:
The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
