    About the Role

    Job title: Regional Clinical Forensic Lead

    Location: South SARC's including Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Slough and Bicester. Base location will be nearest SARC.

    Salary: £42,379.39 FTE pro rata, based on 40 hours per week

    Full Time position

    Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9-5, Base Core Requirements to Support on Rota Mon – Sun 24/7

    Job Opportunity

    Key Responsibilities will include:

    • Respond appropriately to capacity demands and patient dependency requirements, using professional judgement to always ensure safety.
    • Be an effective practitioner, with the ability to undertake clinical shifts (for 20% of your time) and be able to flex to the demand of the area.
    • Follow codes of practice of the police and criminal evidence act 1984 and all locally agreed protocols.
    • Give expert advice, support and information to police, HCPs, and Forensic Practitioners, being aware of psychological/emotional needs and responding accordingly.
    • Maintain knowledge of new developments in forensics and medicine to ensure accurate dissemination of such information.
    • Encourage and support staff to influence and use available services, information, and skills to the full, and to participate in the decision-making process.
    • To act as a patient advocate through the application of ethical, legal, and professional.
    • knowledge and skills, ensuring staff are aware of the requirements of the Mental Capacity Act.
    • Oversight and management of clinical standard operating procedures (SOPs) including developing and revising where applicable.

    Essential Skills

    Essential

    • The ability to work autonomously.
    • Trained and competent registered nurse with a minimum of 3 minimum years' experience.
    • The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills.
    • Leadership experience.
    • IT skills including word and excel to an advanced level.
    • Meetings will be via Microsoft teams.
    • Be organised thorough and detailed in work.
    • Used to working to and achieving key KPIs
    • Full driving licence and access to a car
    • Forensic awareness
    • Report writing, peer review skills
    • Level 3 skills for reading and writing (A level equivalent)

    Desirable

    • Trained and competent sexual Offences examiner (SOE) with a minimum of 3 minimum years' experience in SARC examinations and advice
    • Court awareness trained with desired skills
