The Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CEB) is seeking to appoint an Assistant Professor (University Lecturer) from October 2023 or sooner.
The successful candidate will be designated as an Associate Professor once probation has been successfully completed.The successful candidate will be expected to lead a world-renowned research group and contribute to the teaching needs of the Department.
Teaching and research duties will be split approximately 30:70.It is important that the selected candidate will be willing and able to teach and examine widely across the existing Chemical Engineering Tripos.
A strong track record in teaching is desirable and a willingness to teach in areas outside the candidate's research expertise is essential.
The Department wishes to appoint a researcher in the field of Fluid Mechanics.The successful candidate will have an internationally recognised research track record in a field that underpins one, or both, of the departments impact themes in sustainability and healthcare.
Topics we have a particular interest in covering include any of, or combinations of, low Reynolds number flows, flows in nanotechnology and biological systems, simulations of industrial flows, natural environment flows, rheology, two phase flows.
The overriding criterion is academic and research excellence, and we therefore seek to appoint from the broadest pool of candidates, irrespective of their topic of interest in the wider field of fluid mechanics.
They will foster their subject through research, and contribute to teaching, supervision and examining at undergraduate and graduate levels.A curriculum vitae which includes a publications list and areas of teaching competence.
