We have an exciting new opportunity within our Risk and Compliance Department, based in either Edinburgh or Glasgow.


The role:


Reporting to the Internal Audit Manager, you will provide support to ensure that the firm's systems and controls meet the firm's legal obligations.


You will be responsible for:


  • Supporting the delivery of proactive regulatory compliance within the firm
  • Championing the required values and behaviours required to maintain compliance and the appropriate risk culture of the firm
  • Contributing towards the delivery of the firm's internal audit strategy, including:
  • Completing regular file audits of legal transactions
  • Completing thematic audits of strategic procedures
  • Drafting and communicating clear and robust audit reports and action plans
  • Providing support and followup to the firm and stakeholders to ensure completion and embedding internal audit recommendations
  • Supporting the Internal Audit Manager with maintaining Risk Governance on behalf of the Risk and Compliance department including:
  • Maintaining the annual governance calendar
  • Amending policies and procedures relating to Risk and Compliance
  • Updating the firm's Risk and Compliance materials on the intranet
  • Coordinating firmwide maintenance of the Management System procedures
  • Ensuring governance committees, regulatory meetings and reporting are scheduled
  • Any other compliance activities, required by the firm

What you will need to succeed:

- be able to identify and manage risk effectively and demonstrate a well-organised and logical approach to your work
- strong stakeholder management skills
- ability to convey large and complex information in a simple and concise manner
- accuracy in all aspects of your work ensuring all is to a high standard
- excellent IT skills including technical proficiency in Microsoft products
