Edinburgh College of Art has a new fixed term appointment seeking an experienced and highly organised Academic Services Officer with strong inter-personal skills to join the Student and Academic Support Service (SASS).


The Opportunity:


We are a team of around 50 staff operating in a very demanding and dynamic environment where you will be challenged on a daily basis to deliver high quality service to staff and students.

The post involves managing a portfolio of activities and projects.


Job Purpose


To play a lead role in the development and operation of SASS working closely with the SASS Head &/or Managers, contributing to planning and implementation of new/enhanced processes, systems and structures.

Providing guidance and management information to key academic and administrative managers. Will assist, and deputise for, the SASS Manager(s) in managing day to day service delivery

We are happy to consider secondments from elsewhere in the University.


Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Experience of supervising staff, training and developing individuals and team building: demonstrable ability to empower and motivate staff, and to facilitate the implementation of lasting, service improvements.
  • Ability to analyse and solve problems with an appreciation of possible longer term implications
