Overview / Responsibilities:
JOB OBJECTIVE
I&C Designers shall have working knowledge of I&C equipment as well as Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD.
As requested by the Lead Designers, Engineers or other company management, will travel to job site / factory to undertake constructability review, measurements, installation check and level surveys, etc.
to suit specific project / client.As instructed by and in conjunction with the Lead Designer and appropriate engineers, carries out detailed I&C design work as may be required which will include but not be limited to the following:
- Prepares engineering drawings in their discipline area from rough sketches or from I&C engineering and design information according to established standards and procedures.
- Create I&C designs and sketch out detailed plans for projects such as commercial, industrial, and civil sector structures and plant and/or manufactured products and systems.
- Plans and carries out technical assignments of substantial variety and complexity. Capable of handling assignments which involve a variety of procedures and techniques.
- Undertakes technical assignments that are a significant part of an ongoing engineering program.
- Prepares I&C diagrams or blueprints and/or models of various products or structures, using computeraided drafting (AutoCAD) and/or computeraided drafting and design (CADD) software.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops working drawings, within company and industry I&C standards, from equipment specifications and detailed drawings to support completion of engineering deliverables.
- Creates drawings involving plans, cable containment layouts, cable calculations and bills of material
- Works on assignments involving a variety of design procedures and techniques
- Records observations, performs calculations and prepares reports on assignments
- Performs layouts, design and checking work from the basic data supplied
- Establishes project drafting standards and monitors their conformance
- Identifies cost effective solutions to design problems
- Assists in the preparation of bid evaluations
- Assists in cost/time resource (CTR) build
- Contribute to team and client meetings online and in person.
- Offer a positive and proactive attitude to the whole engineering team.
Skills / Qualifications:
- Competent in design safety / environmental requirements and procedure
- 2 years expererience and competent in AutoCAD packages for I&C design
- HNC or HND (or equivalent with experience) in Instrumentaion & Controls
- Experienced in the use of design and assessment methods used within discipline
- Background in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or manufacturing industries
- Able to work with other disciplines and draughting sections to meet delivery dates
- Familiar and competent with Microsoft office programs (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word)
