- The IS is collaborating with various organizations to establish a Scottish Climate Intelligence Service, aimed at enhancing decision-making for emissions reduction at the local level.
- The Local Leads position will support the Capacity Building aspect of the SCIS by providing practical insight and assistance to local authorities.
- Working alongside the Capacity Building Manager, the role involves engaging with groups of local authorities to build their capability and capacity in understanding and utilizing data for reducing emissions.
- Local Leads will offer tailored support based on specific needs, while also facilitating knowledge sharing with the Data Team and Programme Management Office.
- They will assist local authorities in interpreting national emissions data to make informed decisions on carbon reduction projects.
- Collaboration will extend to various national and local partners to ensure effective engagement and skill development.
- Local Leads will conduct training sessions for local authorities and stakeholders on data analysis for decision-making and project prioritization related to carbon emissions.
- Appointments are for a 12-month term, with a possibility of extension based on performance and project requirements.
- Location: Primary workplace is West Lothian Civic Centre, with flexibility to work within a 30-mile radius and a blend of office and remote work.
- Salary: SCP27 - £31k to SCP30 - £34k.
- Contract Duration: 12 months fixed term, with potential for extension.
- Hours: Standard 36-hour workweek, full-time or part-time availability with flexible hours.
- Responsibilities include coordinating interviews and managing competencies for the role.
