- Lead for HMT on work to identifymedium-term economic priorities for the UK-EUrelationship.
- Lead on strategic oversight ofUK-EU Goods trade for HMT, with the primary aim of influencingpolicy development on governmental priority areas to ensure theapproach pursued is beneficial to the UK-EU economicrelationship.
- Act as the HMT Account Managerfor Goods and Agrifood for work to identify medium term economicpriorities for the UK-EUrelationship.
- Secretariat the UK-EU Trade inGoods Specialised Committee, working closely with colleagues acrossgovernment to establish UK priorities for the Committee and toensure effective coordination of theCommittee.

We are looking torecruit a Senior Policy Adviser – European Market Access (EuropeanPolicy) which sits within the European Policy team in HMT'sInternational Group.
We lead HM Treasury's policyadvice and analysis on the UK's multi-faceted economic andfinancial relationship with the EU. We bring together theTreasury's strategy across the Trade and Cooperation Agreement andother agreements with the EU and the European EconomicArea/European Free Trade Association countries, including theWindsor Framework governing arrangements in NorthernIreland.
We are ateam of around 20, based in London and Darlington, with a mix ofspecialists, economists and finance professionals. Our team is anengaging and encouraging place to work, from the opportunity towork on varied and exciting European policy issues and developtrade expertise to a lively social life. In this role, youwill:
Youwill provide critical strategic and policy oversight to thedevelopment of HMT's strategic position on a wide range of policyissues covering the UK's relationship with the European Union. Youwill be focused on economic strategy relating to UK-EU MarketAccess, which covers a wide variety of Goods and Services policyareas.

While the role is focused onUK-EU international trade, you don't need to be a tradeprofessional to do this role effectively, though some existingknowledge of trade concepts and policies within the UK-EU contextwould be beneficial. The focus of the role, however, is ensuringthat we can engage confidently across the Treasury and with otherGovernment Departments on a complex and fast-moving policyarea.
