    Description

    A new job opportunity is available for a Southwest based Fabrication Company, known for their expertise in architectural metalwork and bespoke steel fabrication.



    Position:

    EstimatorType:
    Full Time/PermanentLocation: Taunton, Somerset

    This is a unique and exciting chance to join our sales and estimating team. The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of experience as an estimator in the metalwork or relevant construction industry.


    Job Description:

    Reporting to the Sales & Estimating Director, you will be responsible for producing accurate quotations, negotiating tenders, and collaborating with the contracts and design department.



    Responsibilities:
    • Estimating architectural metalwork, secondary steelwork, and structural steel
    • Interpreting architects and engineers drawings
    • Calculating material requirements and preparing tender summaries
    • Obtaining supplier quotations and negotiating
    • Meeting quotation deadlines
    • Engaging with clients regarding tender submissions
    • Follow up on sales leads
    • Participate in client meetings and occasional site visits
    • Collaborate with other departments

    The ideal candidate will possess:

    • Knowledge of metalwork or related industry
    • Background in construction or manufacturing
    • Strong IT skills
    • Effective communication skills
    • Ability to work well in a team
    • Independent and self-motivated work approach
    • Strong planning and organizational abilities
    • Attention to detail and a positive work attitude
    • Flexibility and good task prioritization skills
