What we're looking for?


We're looking for a Business Writer on an 18-month fixed term contract who will be responsible for authorising external reports, consultation responses, business plans, and strategy documents.


We'll trust you to:


  • Work with key internal and external stakeholders and the WWU business plan team to create our 2024 business plan submission (covering the period
  • Ensure that our externally published documents are in a language that is understandable by our target audience using a single "voice" for WWU using our brand guidelines.
  • Work alongside the responsible managers to gather content and ensure all deadlines for publication are met.
  • Seek feedback from your peers on documents, making the necessary revisions.
  • Support the design process for external documents suggesting examples for page layouts and graphic images that will accompany the text.
Roles and responsibilities are a guide and dependent on Ofgem's framework decision on future work.


You'll need to have:


  • Proven work experience as a Content Writer, Copywriter, or similar role
  • Excellent written communication
  • The ability to work to deadlines and prioritise your own workload
  • Personal organisation skills
  • Excellent grasp of narrative and structure of longterm business plans
